World championship curling is coming back to Prince George BC. Canada China Czech Republic. The top four teams go through to the finals. The Ford World Womens Curling Championship is a 12 team round robin.

It was among the darkest days in curling history as 48 hours before the start of the event the 2020 World Womens Curling Championship in Prince George BC was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first-time host was slated to have their debut set for March 2020 just days before the world was impacted by the COVID.

The LGT World Womens Curling Championship 2021 is for 14 womens teams from the World Curling Federations Americas European and Pacific-Asia zones and is where six teams earn qualification for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The Canadian town of Prince George in Northern British Columbia will finally have its chance to host the World Womens Curling Championship. The 2008 World Womens Curling Championship branded as 2008 Ford World Womens Curling Championship for sponsorship reasons was held from March 22 to March 30 2008 at the Wesbild Centre in Vernon British Columbia Canada.

Now only the 2021 world championship results are used for automatic qualification. The winner advances to the finals. Curling Canada has announced that the 2022 World Womens Curling Championship will take place in the West coast city from March.
